Collagen Protein + Savory Smoothie Recipe

I am a big fan of collagen protein and incorporate it daily, like in my smoothie bowls, matcha lattes, soups, etc. It's so versatile. I also recommend it to many of my clients to promote healthy hair, skin, nails and joints as well as to help heal the gut!

One of my favorite ways to use collagen is in my Savory Smoothie. I love smoothies for breakfast but I don't always want something sweet or fruit-based so I created the Savory Smoothie. It's kind of like soup for breakfast and the ingredients list might seem a little odd, but trust me on this one. It's surprisingly good!! 

Savory Smoothie

Serves 1


  • 1 cup of beef bone broth 
  • 1/2 cup of almond, cashew or coconut milk 
  • 1 scoop of Vital Proteins collagen peptides
  • 1 Tbsp of mellow white miso paste
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 Tbsp of hemp seeds or chia seeds 
  • handful of fresh parsley
  • pinch of sea salt
  • For garnish: pumpkin seeds (optional)


Add bone broth to a small saucepan and turn on medium heat until it's warm. Add to the blender along with the other ingredients. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Pour in a bowl and sprinkle with pumpkin seeds for crunch.
