A soothing and relaxing blend that promotes stress relief and restful sleep. Perfect for frantic days at the office and winding down in the evening. You don’t have to worry about sedative effects if you’re having a cup during the day, but you’ll surely notice your newfound chill vibes!*

Ingredients: Chamomile, Milky Oat Tops, Passionflower, Skullcap, Lavender, Nettle and Holy Basil

How to Brew: Pour 8-12 oz. of freshly boiled water over 1 Tbsp of tea. Cover and steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain and sip. My favorite way is to use this tea carafe.

Collaboration with Clinical Herbalist, Erika Bryant of Clean Benefits

I am a bonafide herbal tea enthusiast! I drink herbal teas all day at the office and recommend herbal tea as a powerful form of plant medicine to my clients. Herbs have so many health benefits and can be used as remedies for various symptoms and health concerns. I love that, in some cases, I can use herbal teas in place of supplements!

The Keenist tea blends were born out of my desire to create medicinal and delicious teas for my clients. I know a thing or two about herbs, but I needed a Clinical Herbalist to thoughtfully formulate the blends so that the herbs selected for each blend work synergistically with each other for the blend’s intended purpose, didn’t interact negatively with each other and tasted great! I teamed up with the wonderful and knowledgeable Erika Byrant, who is a fellow female Colorado small business owner and expert Alchemist of Clean Benefits, to produce the Keenist line of teas!

Erika grows about a third of the herbs in the Keenist line of teas herself here in Denver! She sources the others from Washington, Oregon and California. All herbs used are organic and sustainably sourced and locally blended in Denver.

Why is loose leaf tea better than tea bags?

I didn’t realize the difference between loose leaf tea and tea bags until my herbalist, Erika, taught me! The leaves used in most traditional tea bags you get from the store are actually the “dust and fannings” from broken tea leaves. Finely broken tea leaves have lost most of their aroma, essential oils and antioxidants. When steeped, they release more tannins than whole leaf tea, often resulting in more bitter brews. Erika provided a helpful analogy that illustrates the difference: loose leaf tea is to whole black peppercorns as the tea in tea bags is to pre-ground black pepper. You’ve likely noticed how much more aromatic and pungent freshly-ground black peppercorns are in comparison to pre-ground black pepper that’s been sitting around for a while. Same goes for herbal tea!

Additionally, most commercial tea bags are produced on an industrial scale and may sit in a warehouse or on a shelf for a long time before you ever get them. These low-grade leaves are usually picked, processed and packaged by machines overseas. In contrast, Keenist teas are local, organic and sustainably sourced then blended in small batches by my herbalist, Erika, here in Denver, CO to ensure they are as fresh as possible! All teas have a 2-year shelf life.


Don’t throw away your tea after steeping it! There is still a lot of flavor left in those leaves. Herbal teas are renowned for their ability to retain flavor and potency so 1 Tbsp of herbs can turn into 2-3 cups of tea if you re-steep! I recommend re-steeping within the span of a couple hours. When re-steeping tea, add 1-2 minutes to the original steeping time. For each additional steep, continue to add 1-2 additional minutes until the flavor is exhausted.
